Does your jerky contain Nitrites?

Yes it does, we aren’t about to lead you on saying we only use nitrites that occur naturally in celery juice powder, etc. We believe in the flavor and food safety benefits that Sodium Nitrite provides. For more information on Nitrites, follow this link provided by the Canadian Meat Council:

How long does it last?

We use a 9 month best before date from the day we make the jerky.

Do I need to refrigerate?

No. Our jerky is shelf stable and doesn’t need to be cooled. We recommend that you consume within 3 days of opening for optimum freshness and experience, but refrigerating and use of the zip lock will lengthen this period and help ensure freshness past the 3 days. For long term storage, all Jerky stores well and retains freshness in the freezer.

What kind of meat do you use?

We use 100% quality Canadian beef, utilizing a blend of different muscles. This gives the Jerky the great taste of the locomotion muscles combined with the tenderness of the structural ones.

How is your product different?

We take pride in our distinct product, offering a softer, more flavorful taste experience. The beef is chopped up and formed into our strips and sticks, allowing us to add in much more flavor than other products, as well as giving the jerky it’s signature soft texture allowing people of all ages to enjoy it.

Where can I buy MHMT jerky?

We are slowly adding new retailers, South Country Co-op grocery and gas bars, Banff Nesters and IGA, Sobeys Med Hat, Lethbridge, Olds and South Calgary, and the newest addition Save-On-Foods in Alberta. Sadly we are only able to sell through retail in Alberta. Feel free to email us for a complete list of retailers near you.

What if I don’t live in Alberta but still need your jerky?

Well you’re in luck because now you don’t have to leave your house to receive delicious jerky snacks. We are now introducing our new online store, available to ship anywhere in Canada! So tell your friends!

How do I become a retailer of MHMT jerky?

Are your products Gluten free?

All of our products ARE gluten free! We recognized the need for a clean label and have built all of our recipes without gluten.

Are your products Allergen free?

Some of our products DO contain SOY, and DAIRY. We use a milk powder as a binding agent in the production process and liquid Attamate (soy) as a flavoring in the products. Please read the ingredient list if you have allergen concerns.

Does MHMT jerky contain MSG?

No! We never have and never will use MSG in any way.

What do I do if my package has been damaged?

If you have any concerns about your product, do not consume and feel free to contact us. Return your product to us and we will be happy to accommodate and reimburse you.

My Jerky isn’t expired, but it looks a little salty?

As Jerky ages, the salt within the product moves to the surface looking for moisture. This is normal in all Jerkys and gives the meat a whiteish appearance. However if the meat has any furry coloured things growing on it, that is a packaging fail! Contact us and we will replace it for you.
